I've noticed the popularity of ravens over the last couple of years. Quite a few collectors seem to snatch them up almost as soon as they are unveiled. I really like the way their "black" feathers reflect blues and purples. They also seem to have quite a bit of personality. These highly intelligent birds are graceful in flight and comical on the ground. They adapt and learn quickly... especially when food is involved.This painting is a bit of a departure from my usual style. The background is laid in with relatively loose brush strokes. This seems to enhance the detail in the ravens themselves.
